How to use Pinguingo when you have a tutor

Let your tutor steer the vocabulary you receive each day.

When you have a tutor on Pinguingo, you don’t have to maintain your own word list. Your tutor picks the vocabulary you receive, and Pinguingo handles the spacing, the audio, and the daily nudge on WhatsApp.

How it works on your side

  1. Your tutor sends you an invite link. Open it and sign up. Your account is automatically linked to theirs.
  2. Connect WhatsApp. Follow Connect to WhatsApp to link your number.
  3. Wait for the drip. Whenever your tutor adds words to your list (or to a group you’re part of), they show up in the next message window.
  4. Reply easy / normal / hard. Your replies feed back into the schedule so words you’re struggling with come back sooner. Your tutor can see those replies too.

What you can still control

  • Message hours and interval. Open Message settings to pick the window and pace that works for you.
  • Audio and example sentences. Turn them on or off from the same place.
  • Your role. If you stop having a tutor, switch back to the student role on the Getting started page. Your existing list stays as it is.

How your tutor sees your progress

Your tutor can see which words you’ve been answering as hard, how many drips you’ve replied to, and which sentences you struggled with. The point isn’t surveillance. It’s so they can use class time on the words that actually need it.

Note

If your tutor leaves Pinguingo or you switch tutors, your list and progress travel with you; you don’t lose what you’ve already learned.
